August 2022

Dear Friends in Christ,
Thank you for your prayers.  Some of you have sent us messages stating that you are praying for us and remembering our needs before the Lord.  Thank you.
At the beginning of Aug., Sam traveled back to Alaska as the last work crew was getting ready to head back home.  He was able to see what had been finished off and what to plan for next year’s goals and then close up in preparation for the coming winter months.
Due to the abundant rainfall for Thorne Bay, it is recommended to use red cedar siding on buildings.  However, we were unable to find any available this summer.  Two men who cut lumber, have offered to try to have siding available for us by next summer. Pray with us that the cost will be reasonable.  As many of you know, building supplies have increased dramatically this past year across the nation.
We are still using generator power and are asking the Lord to provide the electric power lines to be brought to the area.  This would be convenient for the family living there, as well as increase the broadcasting time.  Pray with us.    We are eager to see the radio station in operation so the Gospel message can be heard, people accepting Christ as Saviour and Christians growing and encouraged in their daily lives.  It is good to remind ourselves that God is in control of the timing, as well as the response to the message.
Pray with us for the right one to man the station and for the financial support that they will need to live in Thorne Bay.  We are looking for someone who loves the Lord, desires to serve in this remote area of our country and has the technical knowledge to broadcast and maintain the equipment.
3 days after returning to Arizona, Sam spoke at a camp meeting in Tuba City on the Navajo Reservation.  The camp meetings are Bible Conferences that required folks to camp out over night and attend the next day’s meetings.  (Though few actually “camp out” now, the name is still used.)  We have ministered in Tuba City over the years and even pastored there for almost 7 years,  so it was good to see brothers and sisters in Christ that have remained faithful over the years.
We have been having a drought over the past few years in Arizona and this year, the monsoon season has once again returned.  This is the rainy season that replenishes the water supply for our mountain desert climate.  However, the recent wildfires have created flash flood dangers for our area and some homes have been flooded (about 2 miles from us) and have had to clean up mud and large rocks that have come off the mountains.  12 years  ago, a similar wildfire and flood situation occurred and the county built a flood mitigation program for our area that included a large ditch/canal that runs past  our home. At one time, this canal was filled with flood water but God spared our house and property from any flood damage!  Daily we thank God and ask for protection for the coming day.  Thank you for praying with us.
This coming week, the Northern Arizona School of the Bible will begin the fall semester.  Sam will be teaching 2 classes:  the Christian Home and New Testament Survey I.   This is an extension class of Crown College in Tennessee and  students that complete the classes receive a certificate from there or are able to transfer the credits towards a degree(if they enroll in Crown College).
Once again, thank you for praying with us and being a part of our ministry  to the Lord.

II Cor. 2:11 “Ye also helping together by prayer for us.”

Dear Family and Friends,

God has been doing a great work here on the Quechan Reservation and nearby areas over the last three months.

“This is the Lord’s doing; it is marvelous in our eyes.” Psalm 118:23

There is a lot to say, but we will try to be concise! During the month of May, we had our second Mother’s Day Sunday. We were able to show Christ’s love to the moms in our community. We also had our Teen Revival where we averaged 30 in attendance with several nearby churches attending. We also took one Sunday and focused on a Missions Emphasis. We wanted to focus on broadening our perspective and seeing the need for worldwide Evangelism. Missionaries Brad and Ronda Hastings came and presented their burden for the Navajo people. They were a huge encouragement to our church and to us personally!

In the month of June, a lot has transpired. On June 2nd, a Quechan lady named Seneca came to Christ. She began weekly Discipleship with Lydia and is learning about the Christian walk. Please PRAY that God would deliver her from temptation and protect her from the lies Satan is using to discourage her!

During June 12-17th, we were able to attend Neighborhood Bible Time with (Cocopah) Bethel Baptist Church. We had 14 come on our Winterhaven route along with several from the Cocopah routes! Between both churches, we were able to see 5 kids come to know Christ as Savior. It was such a joy for Lydia to lead the daughters of one of the girls she grew up with to Christ!

We also had several new families visit our church and attend faithfully starting in June. Please pray that they would be strengthened in the foundations of their faith and that others would receive the gift of salvation!

We also had our Father’s Day service where we recognized fathers and gave them a small gift.

For Jr. Camp, we had one Jr. Camper named Ivan ride along with the Cocopah church. Praise the Lord he received Christ as his Savior that week!

In July, we had a great month! We were able to host a 4th of July celebration at NHBC and had 39 people in attendance! We had a wonderful time shooting off fireworks and fellowshipping.

On July 8th, we were able to have a Teen Bowling Activity. 8 Teens attended and we used this opportunity to promote West Branch Teen Camp.

July 11-15th, we attended West Branch Teen Camp with Cocopah Bethel Baptist Church. We had 12 in attendance with both churches combined. 9 received Christ! The following Sunday, another Teenager got saved! To God be the glory!

We had our VBS July 21st-23rd and had 27 in attendance! One Teen accepted Christ as her Savior and another rededicated their life to the Lord! There were 3 classes for K-3rd grade, 4th-6th grade, and a Teen event each night with games and preaching. A great time was had by all! We are so thankful for the Missions Team from North Hazelwood Baptist Church for dedicating their labor and time!

This summer we have seen a total of 18 regular attendees and visitors come to Christ. We want to thank you all who support us in your prayers and financially and continue to pray as we move forward!

Sincerely,

The Jones Family

Colossians 1:18

Prayer Requests:
Salvations, spiritual growth,

Spiritual growth: Teenagers Justice, Airus, and Jazmyn (for wisdom with life’s circumstances and for strength to live for Christ on the reservation. Justin (teenager who is called to preach.) Jonathan (teenage boy), Julie (new convert who has mixed Catholic/ New Age theology). The Golding family, the Straws family, the Ramirez family, and the Robinson family.

Upcoming Events:
We have 3 kids from the Quechan reservation that will be starting Christian school at Liberty Baptist Christian Academy in Yuma, AZ. The kid’s names of Emma, Manuel and Dallas. Please pray that they will catch up in there schooling, Manuel’s salvation, Emma and Dallas with spiritual growth and pray for the financial part of there schooling. If you would like to help these kids financially for school, contact Missionary Jacob Jones or Liberty Baptist Church in Yuma, AZ. Pray as we begin our Anchored Teen Class on Sunday evening at 4:45pm and our first evening service at 6pm on August 14th.
Early next year, there are some much needed repairs that need to be completed at the church. These include replacing crumbling drywall, a broken window, cracks in the kitchen, and other issues. During the summer, it gets up to 120° and the poor insulation drastically increases our electric bill. We estimate these repairs will run in the thousands. Please pray that God will supply these needs!

Personal Prayer Requests:
Lydia’s lungs: after running several tests, her specialist is convinced her issues are due to Long Covid. Her heart is healthy. He stated that her lungs are acting Fibrosed and that there is no treatment at this time. Please pray that the supportive care and Pulmonary Rehab allow her to stabilize and regain strength.
Samuel’s future, my in law’s health (Pastor Mike and Dawn Veldhuis), wisdom, discernment financially, and for us to keep our eyes on Jesus.

Sincerely,
The Jones Family

Dear Co-laborers In Christ,
Summer’s draining 110 + degree heat and destructive sandstorms came upon us with a fury matched only by the unending daily facility and vehicle repairs just in time for nightly use here for Neighborhood Bible Time and then weeklong excursions to distant camps.  Too many prayer requests in our February letter have been answered, however, to fail to thank and apprise you of God’s blessings and the power of your intercession. (Ephesians 6:18-19)
P.T.L. for multiplying your faithfulness in restoring vans and buses to service through huge individual repairs including an alternator, water pump, radiator, entire A/C system, shocks, body work, and windshield.  The blessing of introducing the new bus from Idaho into service allowed us to donate our other 66 passenger bus to a dear Navajo church with whom we’ve worked for years.
THANK the Lord above all for “giving His word free course and delivering us from unreasonable and wicked men.”
(II Thess. 3:1-2) Salvation decisions and rededications through the last several months’ back-to-back 5-day Bible Club, Neighborhood Bible Time, Christian camps, and ongoing local ministries are trophies of God’s grace in an amoral culture completely given over to violence, crime, indolence, and pleasure at any cost.
Perpetual injustice and a culture of death fuel the hopelessness, despair, and suicidal thoughts expressed by abused teen natives.  The recent death of 36-year-old Junior and the murder of another young man push us to enlist your prayers to help natives “…recover themselves out of the snare of the devil…” (II Timothy2:26)

May:June 2022 Update

Exodus 20:12 Honour thy father and thy mother:
Dear Ministry Partners and Praying Friends, May/June 2022

Thank you for keeping us in your prayers the last couple of months. Much has happened since our last letter including some special recognitions. We honored mothers in May and saw one salvation decision that day as well. Then we celebrated fathers in June with Faith Baptist Church’s missions team that had come out to assist with Vacation Bible School. We were invited to honor our local police department, where Steve serves as Chaplain, during National Police Week. He gave the invocation at a special assembly and Sherry’s class led the Star Spangled Banner.

We also saw the completion of another year of our home school co-op. This year was Sherry’s last year teaching in a regular class setting. She will still be assisting the mothers in the co-op with whatever needs they may have teaching their own children. The academic year ended with a field trip to Bearizona, a wildlife park in Williams, AZ.

Camp season has now begun. The ladies of the church enjoyed their annual “Getaway” at the Bill Rice Ranch West Branch. Mom (Becky) De Ford was the guest speaker. Mom came back to the house with Sherry after the event to spend a few days, but our visit was cut short as Sherry tested positive for COVID. A couple days later Steve also tested positive. We had avoided the virus up to that point, but we have now been fully vaccinated, boosted, and infected! A couple weeks later, our juniors went to “West Branch.” Praise the Lord two of our unchurched campers received Christ as Saviour. Since then ten teen girls have gone to camp. They had great time, and decisions for Christ were made. None of the boys went due to scheduling conflicts, however, they are registered to go later this summer.

As I mentioned above, one of our supporting churches (Faith Baptist of Morristown, IN) came out to help us with Vacation Bible School. We had a Wordless Book Theme this year which was new to our people. We averaged 33 with a high attendance of 42 children. Several children were dealt with for salvation, and one boy was saved. While the missions team was here the men installed a new driveway for us. After 14 years we can now pull onto our property with a relatively smooth ride! Two culverts were installed to help during the monsoon season.

Thank you to all those who prayed for and contributed to our vehicle need. A generous $10,000 matching gift was offered that helped us raise enough money to purchase a 2005 motor home for our furlough this fall. We still hope to raise enough for a dependable vehicle to pull along, but we are grateful to have the essential part accomplished. Our goal was between $30,000 and $40,000 for both vehicles. Over $25,000 has come in so far. We are eager to see nearly all of our supporting churches east of the Mississippi River in the coming months. By the end of this trip we will have reported to all of our eastern supporters within the last two years. For those of you in the west, we hope to see you all soon as well.

For God’s Glory,
the Steve De Ford family

June 2022

Dear Friends in Christ,
For 3 weeks, we were privileged to travel to the Navajo Reservation for Sunday services with the folks at Kayenta while their pastor and wife were away.  This is about 2 ½ hrs from our home in Flagstaff and you have to add an hour because we are not on daylight savings time and they are. So it was an early morning for us each week-but we enjoyed our time with them.  Thank you for praying with us.

On our last Sunday with them, on our way home, we got a call from a neighbor and found that another wildfire was burning in our area and evacuations were in the making.  AGAIN!! (Remember that in April we had to evacuate because of the “Tunnel Fire”.)  2 more wildfires started and the wind blew them in the same direction as the “Pipeline Fire” but after a few days these were brought under control, though we can still see smoke in some areas on the mts.  This means much of the forage on the mts. has been burned off and there is a great danger of flash floods when our summer monsoon (rainy) season begins.  So many of you knew of these dangers and sent us texts and messages letting us know you were praying for us.  Thank you so much!  God protected our home and neighborhood  and gave us peace during this turbulent period.  Please continue to pray with us through the rainy monsoon season that is now beginning.

As we mentioned before, Sam is to fly to Alaska June 28-July 13 to get supplies ready for the work crews coming up in July and early August.  Please pray with us that this radio station can soon be broadcasting.

Once he arrives back home, he has only a few days (July 17-23) before he is to teach the English sessions ( 2 times each day) at the Navajo Family Bible Camp which is held annually here in Flagstaff.

In August, we hope he can make a second trip to Thorne Bay, Alaska to close things up for the winter.  At present, tickets for this trip have not yet been purchases.  Pray with us for this second trip and that air fares will  be reasonable.

You are an important part in our ministry- in financial support and especially in praying for us. Thank you so much!

“O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God!

how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out.”

Romans 11:33

Dear Ones In Christ,

God’s wisdom is the only way to get through this life successfully. When we ask for God’s wisdom, what we’re saying is that we recognize the fact we can’t do life on our own and that we need God’s help and perfect guidance. How thankful we are that He readily makes it available to us. Our prayer is that we make it a priority to gain as much of His wisdom as we can.

APRIL – Easter Sunday was a very special day, starting with Pastor Mike Smith’s power-point on Christ’s resurrection, then a time of food and fellowship at the noon meal, followed by The Lord’s Supper.

It was a great blessing for Bev to be able to go back to Indiana in April for five days to visit her ninety-four-year-old sister, Jeanne, (her last remaining sibling) and several other family members, as well. Their time together was brief, but very precious.

MAY – We started the month with our annual Mother/Daughter Banquet, with Sue Smith sharing a very timely message from God’s Word, on “Patterns for Living” to the 22 in attendance. The meal and games were enjoyed by all.

Kirt and Elida and the boys, Joseph and Micah, came up to be with us at our Mother’s Day service, and we also celebrated Micah’s twelfth birthday.

Larry and Bianca had faithfully attended our church as teenagers and also after they were married. The Lord blessed them with three daughters and they continued to bring them to church. Nine years ago, at the age of thirty-two, Larry contracted MS. His was a long, difficult struggle, but he always kept a very positive attitude through it all. On May 13th, Larry went home to be with Jesus. Gary spoke at his funeral, giving a clear message of salvation. One family member, Edwina, raised her hand for salvation. Gary was able to speak with her afterward, and we want to make a follow-up visit with her.

It has been a blessing to have several visitors in our church services, some who are continuing to attend, including Joe, who came at the invitation of a neighbor. After the service, he shared that, during the invitation, he had prayed and trusted Jesus as his Savior. Please pray for Joe’s spiritual growth.

Last Sunday, Ramona and Albert came to services for the first time. They are the grandmother and father of two little girls who have been coming to church for several months now. Please pray for their salvation and that they will continue to come to services.

We also enjoyed having our grandson, Joseph, with us for a few days and were able to celebrate his thirteenth birthday while he was here.

Update on the modular replacement: We are in the process of finding a draftsman who can draw up plans to submit to a structural engineer to design footing requirements.

PRAISES

*Joe’s salvation

*New folk coming to church

PRAYER REQUESTS

*Wisdom from the Lord in making right choices in replacement of the

church modular

*Joe’s spiritual growth

*Siritual needs of Edwina

Thank you so much for your prayers, phone visits and sacrificial support. What a blessing you are! We thank God….

In His Service,

Gary and Bev Messick

Dear Friends in Christ,
May & June are the months for graduations.  Northern Arizona University is located in Flagstaff so we have college and high schoolers graduating.  Just today we received an invitation from one of Janet’s former piano students and the pictures show a young man rather than the child that we knew.  Makes us aware of the years passing!
The final class for the spring semester of the Northern Arizona School of the Bible (held at Ponderosa Baptist Church here in Flagstaff) was this past week.  It has  been a real blessing to have a part in this ministry and hopefully the students will grow from the teaching.
The last Sunday of May and the first 2 Sundays in June, we are scheduled to be on the Navajo Reservation filling in for a pastor who will be away.  This is about 2 ½ hrs away so we will be leaving early each Sunday morning.  The Navajo Reservation, being government land, is on daylight savings time while the rest of the state of Arizona is not.  This means we will have to leave an hour earlier to be there in time for services.  Pray for traveling safety (especially for the last week-end in May which is also Memorial Day week-end.)
June 28-July 13, Sam will be in Alaska to continue to work on the Thorne Bay Christian Radio Station project.   We have 2 volunteer work crews that are planning to use their vacation time to help with the construction.
Here is a list of requests that you can be praying with us about:
1-safety in travel and in the work
2-good progress so we can soon be on the air
3-electric to be brought to the site
(This will be cheaper than a generator and also increase the broadcasting hours.
4-for the teams who need to take time off from their employment- that the scheduling will work
(1 volunteer crew had to back out because of scheduling-in case you noticed that there are only 2 teams  rather than the 3 mentioned last month)
5-for the families left behind
6-direction in finding the man God would have to maintain the station and keep it on the air
We do have a young couple that are praying about taking on this ministry.  Pray with us for Micah & Rachael  and their 2 small boys to know God’s leading.  (Micah is considering  visiting Thorne Bay this summer.)
7-SOULS TO BE WON TO CHRIST and Believers to grow in the Lord through the teaching
(Yes- this is the same list that we gave you the past couple of letters but we’d like to add another one.)
8-for the needed building supplies to be available while the workers are in Alaska.
We have been having difficulty finding cedar siding for the building.  The cedar is needed because of the  rainy climate in that area but not available just yet.
This trip will be to get things ready for the work teams and be sure the supplies are on site. The Navajo Family Bible Camp is held annually here in Flagstaff and this year is July 17-23.  Sam has been asked to teach the English Bible sessions throughout the week, so be returning in time for camp.  At present, we have not booked the tickets for his return to Thorne Bay in August.
As you can see-a busy summer is planned and we surely do appreciate knowing that our brothers & sisters in Christ are behind us in prayer, as well as financially.  Thank you for having a part in this ministry!

Jones May 2022

Dear Friends & Family,
Thank you all for your prayers and in faithfully supporting the work God has called us to. The last few months have been a little challenging for my family and I, but they have reminded us to trust God more and lean not on our own understandings. Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all the ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”

During the first week of February,  I contracted COVID and quarantined for 2 weeks. It was not fun. We did not cancel any of our services. I just asked that anyone showing symptoms of sickness stay home. During those two weeks, I was able to bring in a few preachers to come fill in for me. On February 22nd, I was able to go out visiting and minister to a few folks. Every Wednesday, my family and I have the priviledge to minister to the Cocopah teens. God is working on these Cocopah teens. Please pray that they will surrender to the Lord’s will.
During the last month, we have had several opportunities to counsel and encourage a few Cocopah families as well.
On, Saturday, Feburary 26th, my family and I took 5 teenagers from the Quechan side out door knocking with us. I was excited to see them out and about passing out Gospel tracts to their own people!
During the month of March, we were able to have a Bible study with one of our teenagers who is called to preach. His name is Justin. He is 13 years old. He comes from a home that wants nothing to do with God in their home. Please pray for this young man and his family. We have a Native Grandmother who comes to our church every Thursday with her grandkids named Ms. Bernita. She only comes Thursdays because she is the piano player at the Quechan Nazarene. She is in her 70s and grew up Nazarene her whole life. She has said to me that she loves our church and if there was someone to play the piano for her over there, she would gladly start coming to our church every Sunday. Almost everyone who attends our church is Nazarene or grew up Nazarene most of their lives. They are coming to our church because the kids love learning the Bible in my wife’s class and they love how welcoming we are. Almost all of the 12-16 adults that attend our church have their doctrines mixed with the Nazarene theology and/ or Native spirit worship. I have been teaching them about Salvation, Eternal security, abiding in Christ and the local church. In the next few months, I am going to teach on the idea of Spiritual warfare. Please pray that God will open their eyes to the truth. We have had several come to myself and my wife with questions.
During the month of April, we had our largest attendance at New Haven Baptist Church. There were 41 in attendance! This was on Sunday, April 17th for our Resurrection/ Anniversary Sunday. It was a great day as we looked back at our first ever service via video. We started NHBC with 5 first time visitors, a few local pastors, and friends from other churches.
God also gave my wife and I the opportunity to witness to a lady and help her receive medical care due to Cellulitis. She was in the hospital, but when she recovered both she and her grandson attended service!
My family and I are rejoicing over the fact that the Lord has allowed us to serve on the reservations.
Some of you might be wondering why we are late sending out our May prayer letter. Back in February, after months of prayer, God led my family and I to leave Faith Baptist Church as our sending church in Yuma, AZ.
We love  Faith Baptist Church and we are indebted to them for all the years of ministering to us personally and loving us!
For the last few months, we have been in prayer for a new sending church.
On May 8th, True Light Baptist Church in Los Lunas, NM voted to be our new sending church. We are now under the leadership of Pastor Matthew Wootan. Pastor Wootan has been serving the Lord for over 25 years and we have known each other for almost 20 years.

Thank you all again for your love,  prayers, and financial support!

Prayer Requests:
Salvation: Many are confused by dreams and seeing spirits. Please pray that they will come to know the truth. Ivan: new contact with questions.

Mother’s Day on May 8th, Teen Revival on May 14th, Neighborhood Bible Time on June 12th- 17th, Jr. Camp on June 20th- 24th, Teen Camp on July 11th- 15th and Vacation Bible School on July 21st- 23rd.

Personal Prayer Requests:
Lydia’s lungs, Samuel’s future, my in law’s health (Pastor Mike and Dawn Veldhuis), wisdom, dissernment, and for us to keep our eyes on Jesus.

April 2022
Dear Friends in Christ,
As we write this, we have just returned to our home from being evacuated for 5 nights due to a wild fire in our area.  Many of you saw it on the news and we had several calls, texts, messages… asking how we were doing and telling us that you were praying for us.  Thank You!!  Our property was safe with no damage and we got an unexpected vacation and break from routine.  The church in Flagstaff, where we attend when in town, put us in a nice hotel room for the nights we were away.  This was a blessing to us personally and hopefully a testimony to friends and neighbors of God taking care of our needs and using His people. (Burned 30+homes, 24+ outbuildings, 21,000+acres  but our property was not damaged! )

The Easter Teleconference went well.  Thank you again for your prayers.  Sam gave the message in English during the morning service and a Navajo pastor (Leroy Nez) used the evening service time to give the message in the Navajo language.  Plans are being made for this summer’s Navajo Family Bible Camp to be held in Flagstaff.  Pray as the outlines are being put together-they have asked Sam to do it again this year, as well as give the messages in English while the same outlines will be given in the Navajo language by Navajo pastors.  Many Navajo churches are still hesitant to meet in person as their reservation was hit hard with the COVID virus.  Pray for courage for them to once again meet together.

We spent 2 weeks filling in for a pastor in Show Low, AZ who was recovering from surgery. His recovery was going so well that he decided to begin preaching again earlier than first planned. We will be on the Navajo Reservation the last Sun. of May and first 2 weeks of June as another pastor will be away from home.  Please pray for us to be a blessing and for safety as we travel.

July & August will be busy as we have 3 work teams coming to Alaska to help with the Thorne Bay Christian Radio project.
Please continue to Pray for the list we gave you last month:
1-safety in travel and in the work
2-good progress so we can soon be on the air
3-electric to be brought to the site
(This will be cheaper than a generator and also increase the broadcasting hours.
4-for the teams who need to take time off from their employment- that the scheduling will work
5-for the families left behind
6-direction in finding the man God would have to maintain the station and keep it on the air
7-SOULS TO BE WON TO CHRIST and Believers to grow in the Lord through the teaching
We have had a response from a young family with 2 small children that want to visit the area and see if this is where the Lord would have them serve.  We want the man that God would have serve there and ask you to pray with us and for this family. (Micah & Rachael)

Last month, we mentioned a need for repairs to the roof on our home in Flagstaff.  God met this need and we were pleased that the cost was MUCH less than originally estimated.  Your prayers were answered and we thank you and our Father who kept His promises and met our needs.

We are still in our spring semester of the Northern Arizona School of the Bible.  Pray for our students and that the teaching would be clear and helpful to them.

Thank you to each of you that have helped us financially, but especially those who are behind us in prayer!  We appreciate you and thank God for you!

The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:9
Dear Ones in Him,
As we reflect back on the month of March, we have so many blessings to share with you. At the beginning of the month, we were privileged to have Brother Glen & Mary Jaspers here for a couple of days, during which Brother Jaspers shared with us very timely messages from God’s Word in the Sunday morning and evening services.
Two weeks later, Brother Bill and Mary Rice were with us overnight and we were blessed again with a Wednesday night message by Brother Rice.
For several months we have asked for your prayers on behalf of Gary’s brother, Jack. He had been battling cancer for several months and was placed in hospice. We all have prayed for many years for His salvation. On March 11th, Gary flew to Chicago to be with Jack for the weekend. While there, Gary began, once again sharing the gospel, and there, lying in his bed, Jack understood his need of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, prayed for the forgiveness of sin, and trusted Christ as Savior. On March 29th, God graciously took him to his heavenly home. Though we will miss him greatly, it is a such a comfort to know we will one day all be together again! Please uphold Jack’s wife, Cindy in your prayers.
When Gary called from Chicago to tell Bev of Jack’s salvation, she also had great news to share, because that morning God gave her the privilege of leading Sinai to a saving knowledge of Christ. You may remember we have asked for prayer for Bob and his three children who had been taken away from him due to false accusations. The children were returned to him about two months ago. Sinai is Bob’s nine-year-old daughter.
More good news! A week later, Naomi had the joy of leading, Robert, Bob’s 6-year-old son, to the Lord!
In our last letter, we mentioned that Paul has been counseling with Bob and sharing a video series on godly parenting. Bob has been amazed at what he is learning. We have seen evidence of him putting it in to practice, and we see a positive change in the children. Please pray for the salvation of his eleven-year-old daughter, Sacred. What a joy it is to witness the hand of God working in hearts!
Thank you for praying and thank you for your support. We are truly encouraged to see God’s answers to your faithful prayers! May God bless you.

Prayer Requests:

*Simon – spiritual needs, alcohol addiction

*To glorify God in all we do

*Jack’s wife, Cindy – comfort

Praises:*Salvation of Jack, Sinai, Robert *For God’s abundant grace

In Christ’s Love,Gary & Bev

Dear Friends in Christ,

The winter months are often a bit slower and let us get caught up with things that we have had to put off, as well as prepare lessons and messages that will be used in the months ahead. However, spring has officially started and things are picking up and the calendar is becoming full again.

Every week-end in April, we will be traveling to help out a church that is 2 ½ hours from our home.  Their pastor is having serious surgery this week and will be recovering during that time. Please pray for pastor Quintana as he recovers and for our travel.  Pray that the messages will be a help to the people and just what the Lord would have shared during this time.

Pray also for the teleconference with the Navajo Bible Conference during the Easter week-end.  There will be messages in both English (Sam) and again in Navajo by a Navajo pastor.

We still have classes each Monday night at the Northern Arizona School of the Bible, here in Flagstaff.  Since Sam has 2 classes to teach each week, please pray this month as we come back each week from a full week-end.  Pray also for the students to really benefit from these classes as they grow in their knowledge of God.

July & August, plans are now being made for 3 different work teams to help us progress on the Alaskan Radio Station project.
Pray:
1-safety in travel and in the work
2-good progress so we can soon be on the air
3-electric to be brought to the site
(This will be cheaper than a generator and also increase the broadcasting hours.
4-for the teams who need to take time off from their employment-that the scheduling will work
5-for the families left behind
6-direction in finding the man God would have to maintain the station and keep it on the air
7-SOULS TO BE WON TO CHRIST and Believers to grow in the Lord through the teaching

So far, we have been able to stay out of debt in this project.  Thank you to each of you that have contributed financially and in physical labor and especially in prayer.  By only spending a few weeks each summer, the progress has seemed slow to us.  Pray with us for the Lord’s timing in seeing this desire fulfilled.

{We also have some needed roof repairs on our house.  This is beyond re-roofing but rather changing the slope of the roof and needs someone with experience.  A local contractor gave us an estimate that is quite high- so if anyone with this ability would like to help us out, please contact us and we can better explain the problem.  Thanks}

Thank you to each of you that have helped us financially, but especially those who are behind us in prayer!  We appreciate you and thank God for you!

II Cor. 2:11 “Ye also helping together by prayer for us.”

Dear Praying Friends & Supporting Churches, This year, it has already been a huge blessing to see some of our church attendees grow in the Word. We have several families and van children coming on a weekly basis. Praise the Lord for that!!  The first reason for this letter is to let you know that New Haven Baptist Church is doing well with a core group attending! The second reason for writing this letter is to ask for financial help to help keep our church going. We are still a new church plant, and our people are still getting to know us and learning to give. We receive monthly support from churches and friends and we receive just enough for our personal needs and our monthly church bills. However, we do not receive enough for our end of the year bills like Auto insurance for the church van, property insurance, and other surprises like plumbing and sewer issues. We need $4,460 ASAP to help with these costs:State Taxes $260Auto insurance $1,000Property insurance $1,600Bathroom Repairs $700Registering the church in California $1,000(New Haven Baptist Church was Registered in Arizona last year because we had no property in California when we started the church. Since we now own a property in California, we have no choice but to Register in California.) If you cannot help by giving, then please keep us in your prayers! We love you all! Sincerely,The Jones Family Missionaries to the Native Americans Colossians 1:18
