Grammer March 2023

Dear Friends in Christ,

What a winter we have had!  We have almost surpassed the set record with the snowfall this year over 140 inches so far.  This has slowed us down and kept our schedule more open than normal-yet all our needs have been supplied and we are thankful for the water after years of drought.

The classes at the Northern Arizona School of the Bible are in progress with some new students, but with summer fast approaching, they will soon be history.  Pray with us for the students to understand and apply God’s Word in their lives.

Also, Sam is still recording Podcasts each week and planning to begin the book of I Thessalonians; having completed Titus and James.  We are thankful for the young man from church who has the technical knowledge to run the equipment and helping us one day each week.  Once these are on the internet, we will let you know how to access them.  They should also be a help once we get the Alaskan Radio Station running.   Pray with us that these podcasts will help Christians to grow in the Lord.

Prices have more than doubled in Alaska and we have been praying about plans to drive to Seattle and catching the ferry with needed items for the Thorne Bay building- or ordering the items and having them shipped.  Please continue to pray with us, but it appears that the Lord is directing us to drive, since some items have been donated and will need to be transported.

We are still praying about electric being made available so the station can broadcast around the clock and not be limited by generator use-both in costs and time limits.

We are also still praying for direction in finding the right man to maintain the station:

             the technical knowledge

willingness to stay in a remote area

             his financial support

and especially to desire to serve our Lord and communicate God’s Word

It does look like the cedar siding needed will be available.  Thank you for praying with us.

Once again, thank you for your prayers and being a part of our ministry to the Lord.

II Cor. 2:11 “Ye also helping together by prayer for us.”

In Christ,

Grammer February 2023

Dear Friends in Christ,

January dropped a lot of snow on us and now February has left us with more snow storms and this coming week, another snow storm is forecasted.  We are above the normal amount for the winter and looks like we might be setting records, though still not the #1 spot!  This has changed our activity somewhat and not just shoveling snow.  Some classes (piano and leatherwork with local kids) have been cancelled and since the roads have not always been safe, Janet has had to skip a few nursing home visits.  We are not complaining however, as God is still in control and has provided well for us;  we have plenty of firewood, well-stocked pantry and freezer and electric that only went out for less than ½ hr one night.  When our plans are changed on us, we know Who is in control and confident that His plan is always the best.

March 6 is the scheduled first class for the spring semester of the Northern Arizona School of the Bible.  Once again, Sam will be teaching 2 of the classes, along with a local pastor and is eager for classes to begin.  This school is held at a local church in Flagstaff (Ponderosa Baptist) but is also available on line and the Crown Bible College in Tennessee accepts the credits earned.  We have 3 that have graduated from the 2 year program so far with more signed up for this coming year.  Thank you for prayingwith us for this ministry.

Sam is still working on podcasts that will be made available on line.  He has finished the book of Titus and now working on the book of James.  Pray that God will use these studies as He sees fit in the lives of Believers .

Please continue to pray with us about the Thorne Bay Radio station project.

We have been praying for the needed cedar siding and it looks like it will be available this summer but the costs has more than doubled from last year’s quote.

We have also considered driving and taking the ferry from Seattle with a load of needed items for the building, but again, the fares have increased tremendously since last summer.  Pray for wisdom to know if we should continue with this plan or have the items shipped to Thorne Bay.  Which would be the most economical?  We want to use what God has provided wisely and not need to go into debt.

Continue to pray about electric lines being brought to the property.

Also, pray with us for the right man to keep the station running; as well as the financial support needed.

            .

Once again, thank you for praying with us and being a part of our ministry to the Lord.

II Cor. 2:11 “Ye also helping together by prayer for us.”

Veldhuis February 2023

Dear family and friends in Christ,

Answers to prayer requests of our October 2022 letter were so profound that even unfortunate delays in thanking you could not detract from our gratitude or our gracious Lord’s rewarding your part in this native work.

“For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which we have shewed toward His name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister” (Hebrews 6:10).

To God alone be the glory for making our November 21-23 annual Native revival the best attended and most spiritually enriching one to date. Maranatha Baptist Church’s provisions of 40 plus meals a day together with your enormous gifts
for housing and fuel for some 25 out of state Navajo preachers and church people brought many floundering or lost Cocopah back to church and face to face with eternity.
Nightly temperatures finally dropped into the 40’s in early December causing citrus to ripen and allowing us to make 200 “Gospel Fruit bags” of tracts, peanuts, and fruit. These gained otherwise restricted access to almost every Cocopah
home to personally witness and invite them to our church Christmas party and ministries. THANK the LORD and each of you for the dozens of souls of every age who heard the gospel and received thrilling Christmas gifts as tangible
illustrations of God’s “unspeakable gift” at our December 21st Christmas party or at special services on Christmas and New Year’s Day.

Despite no new salvation decisions, we are thrilled with the return of the largest family’s children to all weekly services after months being kept at home by their parents. All the Golding children are also faithful; the Browns are probing the gospel; but the May’s joined many teens in turning from the grace of God to tradition and pleasure.
P.T.L. and PRAY for the spiritual and personal needs of the many tweens and juniors who come faithfully from all three reservations despite often appalling conditions at home. The joyful, emotionally charged faces filling our bus and van mirrors on the long rides to church testify better than words could to the value of your prayers and sacrifices or the genuineness of tears of gratitude to you and our Lord for the grace to serve Him this way.

The miraculous restoration and glorious thousands of miles’ 2023 use of our 94 minivan and 82 bus for senior and small group pickups evoke constant gratitude on our part, as both vehicles had been declared irreparable by Yuma’s best AAA auto center.
The fruit of your faithful prayers and provisions are too fresh and real to take them for granted or fail to request them for opportune upcoming ministries or needs.

PRAISES:
• Your untold kindness, prayers, and blessed provisions despite our infrequent updates.
• Adults, Brian, Daren, Edward, and Millie’s faithfulness despite huge physical needs.
• Valerye and her foster children’s return to church.
• Dawn’s improved diabetic meds and Michael’s January skin cancer surgery.
• Miraculous recommissioning of all essential vehicles and the clearance of Michael’s annual
 C.D.L. physical.

PETITIONS:
• No loss of life from excesses of this month’s giant annual casino payouts.
• Men’s retreat at Bill Rice’s West Branch, March17&18
• Ladies and Girls Devotional and Craft Day March 25th
• April 15 special Resurrection Sunday Services.
• June 19-23 and July 17-21 Bill Rice West Branch Camps.
• Neighborhood Bible Time (our VBS) prior to or between camps.
• Salvador, Lorie, and the children of their blended family’s enormous spiritual, physical, legal, and mental health needs.
• Health and personal needs of Daren, Edward, Karen, Lorie, Millie, Salvador, and Samantha.
• Health and Strength to go beyond the few North Reservation’s saved teens and begin a regular Bible club for all.

Gratefully Yours In Christ,
 Michael and Dawn Veldhuis

Dear Family and Friends,
We hope everyone enjoyed the holidays and had a blessed New Year. God has blessed us over and over this holiday season. We have seen God work on so many people within our church.

The month of November was eventful!

November 4th we had a Teen Bonfire at our house with Tacos and Pastor Jacob was able to challenge the teens with a message. We had 9 Teenagers, two of whom
were visitors! Towards the end of the month on Nov. 20th, we had a Native Revival with Pastor Saunders from Mt. Powell Baptist Church in Thoreau, NM.

On the 27th, we had the Lovegrove Family present their mission work in Ethiopia.

They were a great blessing to us! One of our Teens raised her hand for salvation and approached my wife after a midweek service. My wife was able to lead this young
lady to Christ!

During the beginning of December, we had coffee with a lady from our church named Melanie. She was saved back in August and had a lot of good questions for us and was wondering how she could help within the church.

As it got closer to Christmas, we were praying and wondering how we could afford presents for all the children in our church. As Christmas approached, we received
Christmas offerings to buy the kids presents. As we were starting to try to budget
for presents, we received boxes of presents from Little Ivy Baptist Church in Mars
Hill, NC. Because of this, we were able to host a church-wide Christmas party with
food and gifts for everyone. 45 people attended!

On December 31st, Pastor Jacob was able to lead a seventeen year old young man
to the Lord. He was terrified that if the Rapture took place he would be left alone.
After he accepted the Lord Jesus, he said that he has no doubt that he is on his way
to Heaven. Praise the Lord!!!

After the first week of January, we had a Youth Rally. Our theme this year was out of 1 Timothy 6:12. We used a boxing theme to illustrate “Fighting the Good Fight”. Our guest speaker was Bro. Chris DelGato from Pomona, CA. He preached 3 messages
in two days. They were on salvation and knowing your opponent. Then Pastor Jacob was able to preach the last sermon which was titled “The Battlefield.” We had a
total of 22 Teenagers! God worked on several people’s hearts- some on reassurance of salvation and some in regards to living the Christian life. To God be the glory! On
January 4th, Pastor Jacob began doing a Devotion on our church community page. It is 15 minutes long, and covers different Biblical topics and principles. On January
8th, we had Vision Sunday and were able to introduce our verse for the year. “Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;):” Hebrews 10:23

On January 10th, Pastor Jacob flew into Heartland Baptist College’s Church Planters’ Conference. While there for a few days, he got to enjoy great preaching, singing,
and was able to present the work God has called us to. Through this conference, we were able to raise $24,410.00 one time offering for building repairs and $500
monthly support! We thank God for this tremendous blessing! We were trying to
raise enough money to fix up our building this year and God provided it in one
conference! We serve an awesome God!

Towards the end of the month, Pastor Jacob was able to take a young man named Adam from our church who is called to preach with him to the church planter’s
fellowship hosted by Pastor Matt Wood in Clovis, NM. He noticed that during the
four day trip, Adam was listening intently, observing, and taking notes. We praise
God that he is teachable! Please keep this young man in your prayers!

God Bless,

Grammer January 2023

Dear Friends in Christ,

As you may know, we live on a mountain at 7,000 ft above sea level.  The climate is “high mt. desert”, so our water supply comes from winter snows and the annual monsoon season with about 2 months of daily rain lasting 1-2 hrs.  We have had several years of drought with mild winters and little to no monsoon season.  This year, we have returned to the past when the girls were little and snows that were deep.  We have had over 5 ft. of snow so far this month and more expected the last couple of days of the month.  Some churches have had to go to online services because of the weather. One of Janet’s piano students said he has missed 4 days of school and a local grocery store had to evacuate customers when the roof had 7-8 trusses give way due to snow, (Thankfully, no-one was hurt and they want to inspect the rest of the roof and re-open soon.) God has been so good to us.  Not only are we getting much needed water, but our pantry and freezer are well-stocked, our firewood supply is great and we have had no power outages!  Even with the grocery store, Janet had been shopping there a couple hours before the incident and was safely at home when it occurred.  God has promised to supply all our needs and has given us so much more!

During this slow down time, Sam has been working on the outline for this summer’s Navajo Family Bible Camp.  They meet annually with both English and Navajo speakers.  The outline keeps the speakers covering the same material, no matter which language is chosen.

Also during this time, Sam was able to complete the taping of the podcasts on the book of Titus.  A local teen, Eric, has been a great help with the technology and is also taking piano lessons from Janet.  We have appreciated his help so much.  He will be finishing school and is considering going to a Bible College soon.  Pray with us for the Lord’s direction to be clear to him and for him to have an obedient heart.

The Northern Arizona School of the Bible is scheduled to start up in March, but we have heard nothing about the Dine Bible School restarting since the COVID scare.  The Indian Reservations have been hit hard with sickness and they seem to be concerned in this area.  Pray with us for wisdom for the leaders and for the students as they study the Word of God.

Please continue to pray with us for the radio station project in Thorne Bay, Alaska.

1– We would really like to see the Power company bring lines to the area, so generator power will no longer    be necessary and broadcast hours won’t be restricted.

2-We need the Lord’s direction to find the right missionary to man the station and the financial support he        will need.

3-For enough cedar siding to be cut this winter and ready when our volunteer crews are there to put it on.

Also- at a reasonable cost.  We have been able to stay out of debt during this construction.  Thank          you to those who have sent gifts for this project.

Please continue to pray for Janet’s piano students-to encourage and equip future church pianists and to be able to share the Gospel with her Mormon student.

Once again, thank you for praying with us and being a part of our ministry to the Lord.

Dear Prayer Partners, January 2023

We want to thank you for your continued prayers throughout the Christmas season and New Year. Thank you also for the beautiful cards and gifts we received from many of you. Our year ended with a flurry of activity. We returned from our furlough and jumped right into the many activities associated with celebrating Christmas. Our program was unique in that several of our ladies had readings from the perspective of varies women that would have experienced the first Christmas. Sherry worked with our youth to present music as well as directing the ladies with their parts. A new activity for Steve was helping the police department with the Toys for Tots distribution. After the busy month, we were able to visit with family for a late Christmas in Indiana.

The New Year brought a new theme for Hualapai Baptist Church “Rend your Heart” from Joel 2:13. Our focus is on personal revival and a closer walk with God as we purpose to confess the sin the Holy Spirit reveals to us. At the close of the service New Year’s Day a ten year old girl that is being fostered by one of our church regulars received Jesus as her personal Saviour.

Our community suffered several losses of members this month. Steve ended up officiating funerals two days in a row. Tragically, on the way to the cemetery, a family member fell out of the back of the pickup truck transporting the body and died at the scene. This family does not come to our church, but one of the members is a close personal friend of Steve’s whom he has witnessed to on numerous occasions. The gospel was clearly presented again during the funeral the day before. We pray the young man who passed away during the funeral procession received the Lord as his Saviour!

In family news, Mom DeFord turned 80 January 10. Our family joined Steve’s two brothers’ in Prescott where we presented Mom with scores of cards that had been sent in from across the country. She has some travel plans this year, so we all chipped in and gave her some much needed luggage. Now she’s ready and eager to visit the grandkids and great-grandkids!

As we write this letter we are preparing to leave (with my deacon, Melvin) for our mission trip to Israel. Lord willing we will be flying out Tuesday, January 31 arriving in Tel Aviv February 1. We appreciate your prayers as we purpose to be a blessing to our young missionary family serving the Lord among His chosen people.

For God’s Glory,
The Steve De Ford family

Dear Family And Friends,

My family and I hope that you had a blessed Christmas and wonderful New Year! God has been faithful in providing for us and helping us in the work He has called us to do. This year, we had the privilege of celebrating our first year anniversary at New Haven Baptist Church with 42 in attendance. With VBS, Jr. Camp, and Teen Camp, we were able to see 12 accept Christ as their personal savior! We had several get baptized this year as well and are praying for many more to make this decision!

Just this morning, I was able to lead a 17 year old young man to the Lord. This teenager was terrified that if the Rapture took place that he would be left alone. With urgency, he called me telling me that he wanted to be saved! I drove straight there and was able to lead him to the Lord! We have had a total of 28 salvations this year!

Lydia has had the opportunity to homeschool a Quechan teenager the past several months and is keeping quite busy using the ACE curriculum.

New 2023 Ministries:

Moment In the Word: I am doing 15 minute devotionals going through different Biblical topics and principles on our New Haven Baptist Community page every Wednesday morning.

Goals For 2023:

To raise monthly support-because of inflation, I have had to travel part time on deputation in nearby areas on Sunday nights.

To raise funds to update our church facilities- our building was built in the 1950’s and needs some interior and exterior repairs.

A Co-op ministry- Lord willing- several kids that attend our church deal with severe academic challenges. In order to train future workers, they must first have the fundamentals of reading and writing mastered. If a Christian cannot read the Word of God, he cannot be equipped for the work the Lord may call him to.

That I can get my bus license- we are currently running two or three trips to pick up everyone on our van route.

As a final prayer request, please continue to pray for Lydia’s health. We recently got the results of her stress test and discovered her pulmonary function is dropping for unknown reasons. Please pray that we are able to find the cause and a treatment soon!

Thank you all for your prayers and financial support!

We so appreciate your time and sacrifice!

Sincerely,

Jacob, Lydia, and Samuel Jones

Sept-Nov prayer letter

Truly God is good….Psalm 73:1

Thank you all for your faithful prayers and support. Our letter is overdue. But the last three months have not been typical for us. We have seen God’s goodness in new and tangible ways for which we are grateful.

Hualapai Baptist Church continues to be a source of blessing. After spending months raising the funds for our needed transportation for our furlough, the congregation surprised us with a generous love offering for pastor appreciation. We used the money to purchase a tow dolly for hauling our car behind the motor home just in time to leave for two months on the road.

We pulled out September 24 and had our first service with one of the missionary families Hualapai Baptist supports ministering among the Navajo in NM. From the first service to the last we saw the Lord provide and protect us. Our furlough was necessary to report to several of our supporting church some of which we have not been back to see in over 20 years. Along the way, we experienced some instances in which the Lord overwhelmed us with His care. Early on, while driving from New Mexico to Iowa, two of the dual tires blew out. We have AAA, but the tow truck could not come out until the next morning and would only be capable of hauling the motor home. The owner of the RV park we had reservations for that night brought our dolly to his property and cancelled our reservation without charging us a fee. We stayed with the motor home that night along the highway until AAA could arrive. Then we followed them in our car to the tire shop the park owner had recommended. We learned that both the park owner and the tire shop owner where believers – only God! The service they provided met every need we had. Over the course of the trip we ended up replacing 8 tires! But in every circumstance God was watching over us and keep us from harm!

Some of our supporters had new pastors since our last visit. It was a blessing to get to meet these men and introduce ourselves and the ministry of the Independent Baptist Indian Mission to them and their congregations. We also had the privilege to present Native American Indian missions to a few new churches along the way. Our schedule took us through New Mexico, Iowa, Indiana, Ohio, Connecticut, Maryland, North Carolina, Florida, Georgia, back through Indiana, and home through Texas. If we missed you, please accept our sincere apologies. We hope to report to our western churches over the course of the next year. If you would like us to schedule a particular time or event with your church, please reach out to us and let us know.

A few of the personal highlights from the trip were being awed by the amazing fall colors of New England, eating our first whole lobster in Maine, singing hymns around the gravesite of Fanny Crosby, visiting with numerous family and friends, experiencing the Ark Encounter, and participating on an alumni advisory panel at Pensacola Christian College. Thank you to everyone who welcomed us and made us feel so at home!

For God’s Glory,
The Steve De Ford family

Dear Family and Friends,

God has been working here on the Quechan Reservation and nearby areas over the last three months.

“O give thanks unto the Lord, for He is good, for His mercy endureth forever.” 1 Chronicles 16:34

The month of August was a month of transition for us all at NHBC as we began holding Sunday evening services weekly. We are thankful for a core group that have begun to attend these services faithfully. They are a help in our desire to see new converts grow! We also were able to have a Baptism Sunday where 3 young people were baptized!

At the end of the month, we hosted a Teen Taco Night and Devotion time at our apartment. This allowed our Teens to get to know us and to just have fun playing games and fellowshipping.

On September 4th, we had the privilege of being officially sent out of True Light Baptist Church in Los Lunas, New Mexico. It’s an honor for us to represent our Lord and our new sending church!

On September 10th, we were able to attend West Branch Camp’s Youth Conference at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Phoenix, AZ. We had 12 Teens signed up to go, but as you all know,  the Devil is a master of distraction. On the day of the event, one teen attended and we rode up with Cocopah Bethel Baptist Church.

During the month of August, Lydia was able to host a Ladies’ Bible Study  about being a new creature in Christ. A small group of ladies attended and good fellowship was had.

Throughout the month, Bro. Jacob was on part time deputation in the states of New Mexico and Colorado. Each church he had the pleasure to visit was such a blessing!

While traveling in New Mexico, he was able to attend the Southwestern Baptist Camp Meeting hosted by Pastor Steven Sykes in Deming, New Mexico. God worked in his heart throughout the meeting and it was a time of refreshment.

We would like to thank Pastor Sykes for allowing him to present and give his testimony! He built friendships with several Pastors who banded together and gave us a substantial love offering just at the time it was needed.

All through September we had asked the church attendees to submit any questions they had in the offering bag. There were 11 questions submitted. On October 2nd during the evening service, we had an “Ask the Pastor Night” and Bro. Jacob answered these questions.

On October 7th, we took 8 Teens to play Miniature golf and had a time of devotion beforehand. October 9th, Bro. Jacob was also able to take one of the Teens who is called to preach with him to present at Pacific Baptist Church in Monterey Park, California.

On October 12, Bro. Jacob was able to present in Garfield, New Mexico. September 13th-15th, he was able to attend our annual IBIMI missions retreat in Bradford, Connecticut. Bro. Paul Hiscock, one of the board members, was the main speaker and took them to see several historical landmarks in Hymnology and history! One of these was Fanny Crosby’s home and gravesite- the well known hymn writer and poet. It was a great experience for all of the members to see and learn more about her!

From there, he was able to present in eastern Texas and Louisiana the following week. Both pastors were encouraging and helpful and he was able to learn a lot about the culture of Eastern Texas and Louisiana.

After that, we had one week to promote our Harvest Festival and Friend Sunday. We passed out hundreds of fliers and thankfully on Friend Sunday, we were able to see 5 visitors attend!

That night, we hosted our first Harvest Festival featuring outdoor games like a three legged race, caramel apples and other snacks, and bags of candy with Gospel Tracts and invitations to church. 25 people were in attendance and we were able to reconnect with sporadic attendees and welcome visitors as well! It was no small feat as Bro. Jacob and Lydia hosted, decorated, and made snacks, and games! Everyone had a great time and we pray this leads to more open doors.

Prayer Requests:

Salvations, spiritual growth, health

Spiritual growth: Teenagers Ruben and Phoenix That Traves would attend more faithfully. For Ivan’s continued spiritual growth. Melody and her children’s growth and continued faithfulness (the Takala family). Encouragement and renewed attendance from the Golding family. The Straws family, the Ramirez family, and the Robinson family.

Salvations: Jessica, Shane, Manuel, and Michelle.

September 2022

Dear Friends in Christ,
Are you ready for fall?  Ready or not-it’s here!  We did have our annual monsoon season this summer and are so thankful for the much needed water.  However, after the 3 major wild fires in our area, the monsoon rains also brought flashflood warnings. We are so thankful that God spared our house and property from any flooding as we saw some places just up the highway from us (2-3 miles) that have suffered with mud, rocks and debris from this year’s flooding.  Every time we drive past them into town, our hearts are filled with thanks to God for His protection.
As Sam was preparing to leave for Alaska, Aug.1, Janet’s knee gave out.  His trip was still able to go as planned when a couple of local Christian teens (sisters) came and spent a few days to help her out as mobility was very limited.  X-rays showed no broken bones and an MRI was scheduled.  After 2 weeks with a walker, she graduated to a cane.  The Dr. saw a torn meniscus in the MRI and stated that if it was his knee, he’d give it some time to see if it will fix itself.  This could have been caused by an injury (which we can’t explain) or just by “wear & tear” (nice way to say? “Getting old, gal” )  It was annoying to wait 3 weeks for the MRI and over 2 weeks to get the report but over time, progress has been made and hopefully, surgery will be avoided.  We didn’t understand what God was doing, but see now the benefit.  Another! lesson  in trusting God. I Thes. 5:18 “In everything give thanks :  for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.”  Giving thanks isn’t always easy, but is always the best way because it is God’s way.
The work at Thorne Bay for the Alaskan Radio station is finished for this year.  Please continue to pray with us for:
#1- the needed cedar siding-(Hopefully it will be cut and ready by next summer and at a reasonable cost.)   #2-the electric will be brought to the property and the generator will no longer be needed #3-direction for the man that God would have live there and maintain the broadcasting. #4-people will hear the gospel message and accept Christ as Saviour and grow spiritually. #5-We have been able to stay out of debt. (Funds are needed to continue to meet future costs of building and for the missionary who will keep the station going.)
Northern Arizona School of the Bible is once again having classes and we even have a couple of new students this year.  As mentioned before, Sam is teaching New Testament Survey I and the Christian Home.  These classes are able to be accessed on the internet, so we are unsure how many are taking advantage of the teaching.  These classes are an extension of Crown College in Tennessee and  students that complete the classes (2 years) receive a certificate from there or are able to transfer the credits towards a degree(if they enroll in Crown College).  We do have a young man ready to finish high school and has taken the classes here in Flagstaff and considering this Bible College; presently making a visit there with his family.  Pray with us for God’s direction in Eric’s life.
Once again, thank you for praying with us and being a part of our ministry to the Lord.

II Cor. 2:11 “Ye also helping together by prayer for us.”

That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us:

and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ. I John 1:3 Gamyu [gam yū] That’s hello or welcome in Hualapai,

These update letters give us a wonderful opportunity to share with all our prayer partners what the Lord has been doing here among the Hualapai and through the ministries of the Hualapai Baptist Church and the Independent Baptist Indian Mission, Inc. And you can have true fellowship right along with us.

A unique fellowship opportunity that we have developed at the church is our “Super Sunday.” About once a month, we move our evening service up to 8:00 AM. We follow the early service with a fellowship breakfast. The church provides pancakes and coffee while everybody else provides various breakfast side dishes. Sunday school, which is usually at 9:00 AM is moved back to 10:00 and our morning worship service is at 11:00 AM. Often, we schedule Super Sundays on holiday weekends allowing our members more ways to celebrate whatever the given holiday may be.

We have often written about our monthly men’s fellowships and the ladies’ Bible studies. These special times give us more ways to fellowship around God’s Word in addition to our regular service times. Other special summer services are our three fellowship Wednesdays. Through the summer months, we schedule our annual Watermelon Wednesday which, as the name implies, is prayer meeting followed by watermelon. The second aptly named special service is our Prayer/Pie/and Praise night. And third is the much anticipated “Sundaes on Wednesday” when we finish the regular prayer meeting service with an ice cream social.

I hope that by describing some of our unique times together as a church you can sense a closer fellowship with us. Your prayer and financial support of this ministry help us provide fun and exciting times around God’s Word in fellowship with God’s people.

The Lord has certainly given us an increase theses last couple months. Five souls received Christ as Saviour through the ministries of the church. Another young man was led to Christ on a Sunday afternoon by his father-in-law after attending Hualapai Baptist in the morning. This young man has been coming for a few months off and on, so we were all thrilled to hear of his receiving Jesus as his Savior. One other Sunday morning, one of our Sunday School teachers missed their class. When the family arrived for the morning worship service they reported that just as they were about to walk out the door, a nephew called. He wanted to know how he could know he was on his way to heaven. This family was able to lead him to Christ over the phone! We are eager to begin a new level of fellowship with these new believers knowing that our fellowship in Christ will never end.

Thank you for your fellowship with us through your prayers and financial support. For God’s Glory,

Steve De Ford
