Dear Family and Friends,
We hope everyone enjoyed the holidays and had a blessed New Year. God has blessed us over and over this holiday season. We have seen God work on so many people within our church.
The month of November was eventful!
November 4th we had a Teen Bonfire at our house with Tacos and Pastor Jacob was able to challenge the teens with a message. We had 9 Teenagers, two of whom were visitors! Towards the end of the month on Nov. 20th, we had a Native Revival with Pastor Saunders from Mt. Powell Baptist Church in Thoreau, NM.
On the 27th, we had the Lovegrove Family present their mission work in Ethiopia. They were a great blessing to us! One of our Teens raised her hand for salvation and approached my wife after a midweek service. My wife was able to lead this young lady to Christ!
During the beginning of December, we had coffee with a lady from our church named Melanie. She was saved back in August and had a lot of good questions for us and was wondering how she could help within the church.
As it got closer to Christmas, we were praying and wondering how we could afford presents for all the children in our church. As Christmas approached, we received Christmas offerings to buy the kids presents. As we were starting to try to budget for presents, we received boxes of presents from Little Ivy Baptist Church in Mars Hill, NC. Because of this, we were able to host a church-wide Christmas party with food and gifts for everyone. 45 people attended!
On December 31st, Pastor Jacob was able to lead a seventeen year old young man to the Lord. He was terrified that if the Rapture took place he would be left alone. After he accepted the Lord Jesus, he said that he has no doubt that he is on his way to Heaven. Praise the Lord!!!
After the first week of January, we had a Youth Rally. Our theme this year was out of 1 Timothy 6:12. We used a boxing theme to illustrate “Fighting the Good Fight”. Our guest speaker was Bro. Chris DelGato from Pomona, CA. He preached 3 messages in two days. They were on salvation and knowing your opponent. Then Pastor Jacob was able to preach the last sermon which was titled “The Battlefield.” We had a total of 22 Teenagers! God worked on several people’s hearts- some on reassurance of salvation and some in regards to living the Christian life. To God be the glory! On January 4th, Pastor Jacob began doing a Devotion on our church community page. It is 15 minutes long, and covers different Biblical topics and principles. On January 8th, we had Vision Sunday and were able to introduce our verse for the year. “Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;):” Hebrews 10:23
On January 10th, Pastor Jacob flew into Heartland Baptist College’s Church Planters’ Conference. While there for a few days, he got to enjoy great preaching, singing, and was able to present the work God has called us to. Through this conference, we were able to raise $24,410.00 one time offering for building repairs and $500 monthly support! We thank God for this tremendous blessing! We were trying to raise enough money to fix up our building this year and God provided it in one conference! We serve an awesome God!
Towards the end of the month, Pastor Jacob was able to take a young man named Adam from our church who is called to preach with him to the church planter’s fellowship hosted by Pastor Matt Wood in Clovis, NM. He noticed that during the four day trip, Adam was listening intently, observing, and taking notes. We praise God that he is teachable! Please keep this young man in your prayers!
