Grammer Sept 2022

September 2022

Dear Friends in Christ,
Are you ready for fall?  Ready or not-it’s here!  We did have our annual monsoon season this summer and are so thankful for the much needed water.  However, after the 3 major wild fires in our area, the monsoon rains also brought flashflood warnings. We are so thankful that God spared our house and property from any flooding as we saw some places just up the highway from us (2-3 miles) that have suffered with mud, rocks and debris from this year’s flooding.  Every time we drive past them into town, our hearts are filled with thanks to God for His protection.
As Sam was preparing to leave for Alaska, Aug.1, Janet’s knee gave out.  His trip was still able to go as planned when a couple of local Christian teens (sisters) came and spent a few days to help her out as mobility was very limited.  X-rays showed no broken bones and an MRI was scheduled.  After 2 weeks with a walker, she graduated to a cane.  The Dr. saw a torn meniscus in the MRI and stated that if it was his knee, he’d give it some time to see if it will fix itself.  This could have been caused by an injury (which we can’t explain) or just by “wear & tear” (nice way to say? “Getting old, gal” )  It was annoying to wait 3 weeks for the MRI and over 2 weeks to get the report but over time, progress has been made and hopefully, surgery will be avoided.  We didn’t understand what God was doing, but see now the benefit.  Another! lesson  in trusting God. I Thes. 5:18 “In everything give thanks :  for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.”  Giving thanks isn’t always easy, but is always the best way because it is God’s way.
The work at Thorne Bay for the Alaskan Radio station is finished for this year.  Please continue to pray with us for:
#1- the needed cedar siding-(Hopefully it will be cut and ready by next summer and at a reasonable cost.)   #2-the electric will be brought to the property and the generator will no longer be needed #3-direction for the man that God would have live there and maintain the broadcasting. #4-people will hear the gospel message and accept Christ as Saviour and grow spiritually. #5-We have been able to stay out of debt. (Funds are needed to continue to meet future costs of building and for the missionary who will keep the station going.)
Northern Arizona School of the Bible is once again having classes and we even have a couple of new students this year.  As mentioned before, Sam is teaching New Testament Survey I and the Christian Home.  These classes are able to be accessed on the internet, so we are unsure how many are taking advantage of the teaching.  These classes are an extension of Crown College in Tennessee and  students that complete the classes (2 years) receive a certificate from there or are able to transfer the credits towards a degree(if they enroll in Crown College).  We do have a young man ready to finish high school and has taken the classes here in Flagstaff and considering this Bible College; presently making a visit there with his family.  Pray with us for God’s direction in Eric’s life.
Once again, thank you for praying with us and being a part of our ministry to the Lord.

II Cor. 2:11 “Ye also helping together by prayer for us.”
In Christ,
Sam & Janet Grammer
