Baucom’s December 2013 Letter

December 2013

Dear Pastor & Church,

Our Last “News Letter” of 2013, Elaine and I are so happy to be here. We have never been as happy and as close to each other as we are these days. Not that we were never close, but we sure are experiencing what I had admired in the older, godly couples we knew as the years trekked on. Bless the LORD!

The Church has never been as sweet as it is these days. And to recall, last year at this very time we were in so much grief and turmoil. We thank God EVERY day for allowing us to remain here with the native people. Our people are so precious. I hope we never have to go through a sifting again as long as we live. But, the Lord sure has made the work sweet again. We never want to see folks go, but sometimes it happens. In our 26 years of being here, this has happened twice. Each time the work has gotten sweeter.

Our Attendance is down a bit due to sicknesses. Yet, there are visitors coming just about every Sunday. The Spirit of the LORD seems to be please. We are so blessed.

The Buildings I had mentioned to a few pastor friends how our Church house on the Reservation was needing some repairs. Our folks are doing what they can and that is commendable, but we needed some help. Our friends have come to our rescue, praise the LORD! The funds for the repairs have been sent in. ☺

John & Romans: I’m mailing this News Letter from Lancing Michigan, Parker Memorial Baptist Church Print Shop, Pastor Don Green, as we are here picking up John & Romans. We are planning a large mail-out on the Reservation and then also we are planning to take part in this years parade that’s coming up. Our plans are to walk as an entry with Gospel signs and passing out John & Romans along the route as we go with a candy cane and Christmas message attached to each of them. If there is ever an easy time to distribute gospel tracts and John & Romans it is around this time of the year. People seem to be in a better giving and receiving spirit. We are excited! Our folks are use to carrying Gospel signs, but not among a crowd this size. This will be our first parade involvement for our Church.

Thank You: Elaine & I sure want to Thank You for remaining with us as we remain here among the native people. We sure appreciate the sacrifice that you and your folks make for the Baucoms. We could not stay here with out your friendship, trust, prayers & financial support. God Bless.
