Render therefore to all their dues; tribute to whom tribute is due;
custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear;
honour to whom honour. Romans 13:7
Dear Family, Friends, and Ministry Supporters,
April and May were months to honor those to whom honor is due!
Hualapai Baptist Church missionary Stu Jellison to the US military in Japan returned to the reservation to give an update on the ministry in Asia. One of the men from church along with Steve had the opportunity to visit Japan several years ago and observe the Jellisons’ ministry first hand. Yokosuka Baptist Church is also a supporting church of ours! We were excited to catch up with the ministry in Japan, and honor a faithful missionary serving there.
We honored the mothers of HBC with a Super Sunday celebration. Each mom in attendance received a special gift from the church. Steve’s mom, Becky, a veteran missionary among the Indians of Arizona was doubly blessed as her other two sons, Jeff
and Brian, showed up at church for a surprise visit!
Hualapai Baptist Church takes a special interest in our local police department. We
honored them during National Police Week by taking baked goods to the police station each morning of the week. On Tuesday morning the community was invited to the station for a special flag raising. Our church was asked to sing the Star Spangled Banner. We are thankful for our local officers and the protection they provide our community and
our church facility in particular.
Finally, we honored our homeschool alumni along with this year’s graduate, Malachi Uqualla. Malachi began in our co-op as a preschooler and continued throughout his education as one of our home school students. He is the very first native student to graduate from our co-op who completed all of his education in home education. As a result, we invited Dr. Troy Shoemaker, president of Abeka Book, to speak at our commencement this year. We also invited all of our alumni back to HBC for an all school reunion. Brother and Mrs. Shoemaker were a blessing to everyone. Dr. Shoemaker encouraged Malachi and all those in attendance to “Go Forward.”
Thank you for your continued prayers and support of this ministry. We honor you for your
faithfulness!
For God’s Glory,
Steve De Ford
