Grammer June 2024

Dear Friends in Christ,

What a delight to sleep in your own bed!  The first Alaska trip is now history.  Traveling was a bit of a challenge as flights were changed-but all came together and worked out.  Good to know Who is really in control!   We had 3 teen boys from Flagstaff, and one of their fathers that went on this first trip.  They all worked hard and much was accomplished in preparation for the work crew coming in late July-early August.  The second crew is from a church in N.C.  This volunteer crew have helped the past 3 years and have been a great help.   Many of them are professionals so they know what is needed to be done.

This second trip will be driving to Bellingham, WA to catch the ferry to Ketchikan and then another ferry to Prince of Wales Island and then drive to Thorne Bay.   No airlines this time, so we can transport equipment and supplies in the back of the truck.  Please pray for safety in travel and to make the scheduled connections-both for Sam, as well as the work crew coming across country from N.C.   Pray also for safety as they work, and much to be accomplished this summer so we can soon see the radio station broadcasting.

Thank you for praying with us for this ministry.  We are thankful for the lumber that was supplied this last trip.  It was in good shape.  Some was donated and the rest was very affordable and within our budget.  Please continue to  pray for:

-for the electric company to  put in a pole so generator power will not be needed

(This will greatly increase the time we can be on the air)

-for the future missionary to man the station

(We are not yet ready for this man, but still need to pray as God prepares him for this                                                                   position, even now.)

Also-thank you for praying for Janet while Sam was away.  The trip to Page, AZ, to speak at a bridal shower,  went well  and for safety during the travel.  God even provided a Christian friend to make the trip with her for the 4 ½ hr. round- trip.

She also had the monthly Bible Reading time at a local adult residential home here in Flagstaff.   These residents have memory difficulties, so it is a challenge to choose Bible passages and hymns that they might remember from the past to encourage and comfort them during this difficult period of life that they are experiencing.  Again- thank you for your prayers.

In a couple of weeks, before the second trip to Alaska, Sam will be teaching the English sessions at the annual Navajo Family Bible Camp, here in Flagstaff.  A Navajo man, Cliff Hyden, will finish out the week, allowing Sam  a few days for the drive to Washington to catch the ferry.  Do  pray with us for this man, as well as, Willie Tsosie, the man that will be teaching in the Navajo sessions.  (They are both former Bible students of Sam’s and we are so pleased to see them being used by God in this way.)

Thank you to each of you for your prayers and help in our ministry.  You are very much needed!

II Cor. 2:11 “Ye also helping together by prayer for us.”
