Dear Friends in Christ,
Summer is beginning to settle in and our schedule is becoming busy.
Bible School classes are now finished for the spring semester and waiting for students to turn in their final exams. Thank you for praying with us for these classes and for the Lord to work in hearts as they take time to study God’s Word.
This year, Sam will be traveling to Thorne Bay, AK twice. The first time is coming up soon as he flies with a work crew from Flagstaff, AZ. There will be 4 teens and one other man (father of 2 of the teens) and hopefully they will be a help getting construction materials to the site for the work crew from NC. that is coming up in late July- early August. Pray with us that the hearts of these young men will be challenged to use their lives to serve the Lord-maybe in missions?
The second trip , Sam will be driving and transporting needed items by ferry. The ferry leaves from Bellingham, WA on July 25 and returns on August 16. (Add some days on either end for the drive from AZ. to WA. ) Pray as he travels-to make the connections and for safety.
Also continue to pray for the radio station project:
-for costs of supplies to be reasonable and within our budget
-for the electrical needs
-for the future missionary to man the station
(We are not yet ready for this man, but still need to pray as God prepares him for this position, even now.)
While gone in June, Janet is to speak at a bridal shower in Page, AZ. Pray as she prepares and for safe travel as it is approximately 2-1/2 hours from Flagstaff. A Christian friend will be riding along to be a support and help in case of trouble on the road. (The Ladies’ tea on the Navajo Reservation, where she spoke the day before Mothers’ Day, went well, Thank you forpraying!)
On June 19, Janet will again have a Bible Reading time at the adult residential home here in Flagstaff; in a wing housing residents with mental challenges (dementia & Alzheimer’s). There have been over a dozen each time and she is getting a positive response as they enjoy the Scripture reading and old time hymns that we sing. Pray, as she chooses the passages and songs, that they will be used by God as needed in each life.
Sam has been working on the outlines for this year’s Navajo Family Bible Camp (7/14-20) that is held in Flagstaff each summer. The outlines help the Navajo teachers and English teachers to cover the same material in morning and evening sessions. Mon. & Tues., Sam will be teaching the English sessions and then a Navajo man will finish out the week. This will allow him a few days for the drive to Washington to catch the ferry. Do pray with us for each man that will be speaking. (They are both former Bible students of Sam’s.)
We realize that you are an important part of our ministry. Thank you for your financial support, but especially for your prayers. God IS using you and we thank you!
