| Dear Family and Friends, The last few months have been a whirlwind of events at New Haven Baptist Church! At the beginning of February, we had our Teen Bake Day with 14 in attendance. Once a month, Bro. Jacob tries to have a Teen activity, including a challenge from God’s Word. Bro. Jacob preached a message on surrender, and the Teens baked and decorated cookies to take home. The day after the activity, Br. Jacob went on a month of deputation to update churches on the work. He went to five different states and preached at 13 churches within 3 and a half weeks. We were able to provide reports to four supporting churches, and 2 new churches took us on for support! March was Baptism Month at our church, with four new Baptisms and four salvations. We were also able to disciple 15 people per week. On the 21st of the month, Lydia hosted our Ladies Fellowship, along with the ladies and girls of Cocopah Bethel Baptist. Mrs. Dawn Veldhuis spoke on giving your life to Christ. There were 12 teens and ladies in attendance. We also had 26 new visitors at NHBC that month. The first week of April, Bro. Jacob decided to take his family on a week-long vacation during Samuel’s spring break to strengthen their relationship, after being away much of the previous month. “But if any provide not for his own and especially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith and is worse than an infidel.” 1 Timothy 5:8: Our family believes this verse speaks not only of physical provision but also of emotional and spiritual provision. When we got back from vacation, we went right back to work discipling, counselling, and door-knocking. It’s exciting to see a lot of teenagers getting involved in going door-knocking with Bro. Jacob. On Easter Sunday, we had a wonderful day with ten visitors and a salvation. We also had brunch for everyone afterwards and an egg hunt to draw the kids in the community. We rejoice over what God did that day! On April 24th-27th, we had the privilege of having Pastor Joel Haynes from Stronghold Baptist Church on the Navajo reservation in Pinon, Arizona, preach at our Missions revival. He did a phenomenal job! We had 3 people get saved. Two were teenagers. One was a man who Bro. Jacob reached out to someone on the street while passing out invitations. During our Mission’s Revival, we held Teen Bowling after our Saturday session, with 8 Teens in attendance. Thank you all for your prayers and support! Without them, our ministry would be of no effect. Yours in Christ, Jacob, Lydia, and Samuel Jones PRAYER REQUESTS God’s working on Manuel, Genavicia, and Andrew for salvation. That Jesus, Azalea, Zane, Dallas, Emma, Ivan, Diana, Damaris, Eli, and Donivin would grow spiritually. Lily Twist- During the month of February, a 17-year-old, whom Lydia had known her whole life, was kicked out onto the street. We allowed her to stay with us as long as she followed our guidelines. She was with us for 2 months, and within those months, she broke the rules 3 times and was unwilling to allow God into her life. Please continue to pray for her- that God would get a hold of her heart. That Lamuel and Larry, new visitors, would keep attending. That Carlita & her kids would attend regularly. That Seneca can get her liver transplant soon. For Pastor Jacob’s application to be a chaplain at the Quechan nursing home and the Police Department to be approved. Pastor and Mrs. Veldhuis’ health. Samuel’s continued good health & growth. Please pray for 3 more churches to take us on for monthly support. A few churches stopped supporting us due to financial issues. PRAISES Within the last 3 months, we have had 36 new visitors. Within the last 3 months, we have had 9 salvations! God protected Bro. Jacob is on the road. God provided for our van’s AC to be fixed. We thank God for providing funds for Lydia’s Dental needs! |
