\nDear Friends in Christ,<\/p>\n
Vacation Bible School at Navajo Fellowship Baptist Church for 2013 is now history.\u00a0 Our theme for this year was \u201cKingdom Chronicles\u201d, focusing on the spiritual warfare and putting on the Armor of God.\u00a0 Our first night we had 22 students, but the rest of the week stayed pretty consistent between 37-39 in attendance.<\/p>\n
Most of our workers worked at a job all day and then joined us for another 3-4 hours each night.\u00a0 By Friday, we had a tired crew, but rather than complaints, we were hearing praising.\u00a0 Yes-we had a good time together, but we also had 4 youths make professions of faith in Christ.\u00a0 Now that was exciting!\u00a0 This coming Sunday, we are planning on at least one baptism as the young man wants to make a public declaration of his salvation.<\/p>\n
The morning after VBS, we got a phone call, asking Sam for help at a Camp Meeting (Bible Conference) on the Reservation, where the scheduled speaker was unable to come.\u00a0 So it was a quick shower and 1 hour drive to arrive for another full day.\u00a0 Physically tired from a full week, could he keep focused and be understood as he taught God\u2019s Word?
\nPsalm 71:8 & 18\u00a0 \u201cLet my mouth be filled with thy praise and with thy honor all \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 the day.\u00a0 (16) I will go in the strength of the Lord God:\u00a0 I will make mention of thy \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 righteousness, even of thine only.\u201d
\nWhat mighty God we serve!\u00a0 As we accumulate more years, we become more aware of our need for His strength to serve Him and accomplish His work.
\nII Cor. 4:7 \u201cBut we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the
\nexcellency of the power may be of God.\u201d
\nII Cor 12:10 \u201c\u2026for when I am weak, then am I strong\u201d<\/p>\n
The Tuesday, following VBS, we had a visiting musical group from West Coast Baptist College.\u00a0 We enjoyed the evening with good music, but also we want to encourage our young people to choose Christ-honoring schools for their college education.\u00a0 Wherever God puts them in His plan, they need to have a good knowledge of His Word.\u00a0 This month, a missionary with Home to Heaven at the age of 88.\u00a0 A good reminder that we need to be preparing co-workers and replacements.\u00a0 We\u2019re not ready to quit!-just challenged to help others prepare that the work might continue.<\/p>\n
In August, Sam will be traveling to Alaska, with 3 other men from Arizona, to do some more work in preparing the property in Thorne Bay for the radio station that we\u2019d like to see established in that area.\u00a0 Please pray for their safety and that much will be accomplished before they have to return home.\u00a0 It\u2019s the only \u201crainforest\u201d in the USA, so pray also that they will have a few rainless days as they work.<\/p>\n
Again-we thank you for your prayers and gifts that allow us to serve here in the Southwest.<\/p>\n
