{"id":2619,"date":"2026-01-01T16:11:08","date_gmt":"2026-01-01T23:11:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ibimi.com\/?p=2619"},"modified":"2026-03-20T16:13:58","modified_gmt":"2026-03-20T23:13:58","slug":"jones-jan-2026","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ibimi.com\/?p=2619","title":{"rendered":"Jones Jan 2026"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Dear Family and Friends,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cBless the Lord O my soul and forget not all his benefits.\u201d Psalm 103:2<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Lord has really blessed us this year in seeing fruit as we labor for Him! This past year, we have seen 32 salvations, 12 baptized, and 19 people discipled!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On January 4th of this year, we had our Youth Rally with Brother Toby Garcia<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&amp; Missionary Caleb Robinson. We had 30 teenagers in attendance from our church as well as several nearby churches of like faith. January 24th-29th, we hosted our Winter Revival with Pastor Steve Myers from Long Beach, CA. We praise the Lord for 3 salvations!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In February of this year, we started off strong with our Teen Bake Day on the 1st. The Teens baked cookies and then heard a challenge from God&#8217;s Word. We had 14 teenagers attend! From the 2nd- 27th, Bro. Jacob travelled on deputation. He visited 13 churches and we were able to get 2 new supporting churches to take us on!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>March of this year was Baptism Month. Br. Jacob preached a series on the meaning and need for Baptism and challenged attendees to take this step. We had 4 baptisms!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the 21st, Lydia hosted our semi-annual Ladies fellowship with Sister Dawn Veldhuis speaking. We had 12 ladies in attendance! That month we had 26 new visitors come without any events going on that would have encouraged them to come!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;In April of this year, we had our monthly Teen activity on the 11th. For the next few weeks, we passed out flyers and encouraged people to come to Resurrection Sunday on the 20th.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;On Resurrection Sunday, We had a potluck lunch after service and an egg hunt for the kids. It was also our church Anniversary Sunday! We had 10 visitors &amp; 1 salvation! That evening, we celebrated the Lord&#8217;s Supper.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;From the 24th- 27th of the month Pastor Joel Haynes from Stronghold Baptist on the Navajo Nation preached our Annual Missions Conference. We had 3 people come to salvation!&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On May 3rd, we attended a Youth Rally at Evangelical Baptist Church. Several teens went and they had a wonderful time!&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>June was packed with summer events! From June 17th- 19th we had our Rocket Racer Vacation Bible School and Teen Rally. We are so grateful for the team from Beeville Baptist for their help! We had 55 in attendance &amp; 14 salvations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From the 23rd- 27th, we attended West Branch Youth Camp. We had 7 from our church &amp; 3 from the Cocopah Bethel Baptist Church. Many decisions were made for Christ!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The month of July was hectic but also relaxing! On July 6th, two of our Teen girls sang a special for the first time! From the 7th- 10th, Bro. Jacob and Lydia helped Cocopah Bethel Baptist with their annual Neighborhood Bible Time. From the 14th- 16th, we took our Teens to Pacific Baptist Youth Conference at Pacific Baptist Church in Long Beach. 3 attended from our church &amp; 3 from the Cocopah Bethel Baptist Church. At the end of the month, we wrapped things up with a week of Family Vacation!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In August, our prayers on how to start the Foster care process transformed into a likelihood as we started Foster care classes on the 10th. On August 11th Samuel started 1st grade at a new school, Liberty Baptist Christian Academy. He is thriving and his reading has vastly improved! On the 15th, we hosted a Teen game night at our house and 12 teenagers attended.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>September was a month filled with events. On the 6th, we attended West Branch&#8217;s Youth Conference in Peoria, AZ. We had 6 teenagers from Cocopah Bethel attend. From the 7th- 10th, we had our Fall Revival with Pastor William Wallace from Central Coast Baptist Church in Marina, CA. His preaching helped strengthen our church. On the 21st, we had Membership Sunday. We had our first 2 members join the church!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>October was Soulwinning month. Each Tuesday night we had Soulwinning Training open to all who were interested. We had several people come out. From the 7th-10th, Bro. Jacob attended a Church Planter&#8217;s conference in Washington State.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;On October 10th, we got a call from the distraught mother of two young men. She had been attending our church. After a struggle with mental health, one of her sons had murdered the other and then killed himself. The funeral was on October 27th. Bro. Jacob and Lydia were able to support them during their time of grief.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;On the 19th, we had Friend Day. We had a good turnout with the help of Chris Delgado and his friends from his church in Riverside, CA.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>November was a month filled with ministering to others. We began Friday morning coffee time with the Vargas Family &amp; others from my church to help and encourage the Vargas family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 2nd of the month we had our Native Revival with Pastor Sheridan Saunders from New Mexico. On November 23rd we had a church-wide Thanksgiving Potluck. On the 25th, we closed out the month with a Pie &amp; Praise Night thanking God for what He had done in our lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>December was full of Christmas ministries! We had our Teen Christmas Party on the 5th of December. We had 9 in attendance. They had a wonderful time with hot chocolate, a gift exchange, and watching The Grinch.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the 12th, we were able to lead a lady named Tatiana to the Lord! Keep her in prayer as she fights for sobriety. On the 14th, a teenage girl who had attended a school memorial for Matthew Vargas came to church on her own. Pastor Jacob spoke about those searching for God. At the end of service, she told him she had been searching and a lady from our church led her to Christ. On the 19th, our church hosted a charity called Codys Closet and over 100 attended. We were able to pass out Gospel tracts to everyone that came through our doors. Please pray that the ones that received tracts at this event will come to know the Lord.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the 19th, God answered prayer by allowing us to be licensed to Foster. Please pray that God will bring us the children He wants us to minister to.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the 21st, we had our All Church Christmas Party. Bro. Jacob told the Christmas story to the church and after the service we handed out gifts to all the kids and had an all church meal. That evening, we had the Lord&#8217;s Supper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>December 30th-January 1st was our 3 Day Winter VBS put on by Mount Vista Baptist Church in Sierra Vista, AZ. We had a wonderful attendance of 26 and 4 salvations! The group from Sierra Vista was a huge blessing to our church! Next year we&#8217;ll be doing this again. If anyone is interested in helping us next year for our Winter VBS please let us know!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Heartaches &amp; Requests:<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As we already said pray for The Vargas Family as they navigate the loss of their 2 boys<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ivan: 4 of his close friends- all teenagers- commited suicide. One of them was named Jared and he got saved at VBS this summer. The Devil is making him feel like he could have prevented it when he could not have.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Comfort after the passing away of Emma &amp; Manuel&#8217;s mom<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Salvations Requests:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jaylah &amp; Joaquin her nephew.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gabe and Giovanni<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Royce, Roniah, Danielle, and Jayceon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tatina<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Manuel&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cole<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Spiritual Growth Requests:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Phoenix, Ivy, Ivan, Reina, Diana, Damaris, Angel, Violet, Valena, Vonnie. Lilah, Dallas, Emma<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Health Requests:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mrs. Meade: healing from recurrent health battles&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Seneca: awaiting a liver transplant&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Personal Requests:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>God&#8217;s Hand on our family and ministry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Power from God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Family: that we would adjust smoothly to the foster process.
