Dear Family and Friends:
\nAs we begin another year, perhaps you have thought of goals or directions\nfor your life. If you were to have a theme for this year, a good theme would\nbe, \u201cWalking with God.\u201d Or to put it another way perhaps, \u201cTaking another\nstep with God.\u201d No matter where you are in your walk with God, may this\nyear find you taking that next step (or steps) with God. Jesus said, \u201cMy\nsheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.<\/em>\u201d <\/em>John 10:27.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For some time, we have desired to grow as a church in prayer. At our\nWednesday night services, during our prayer time, there seemed to be a\nhesitation to pray together. Then in the last two or three months, there\nhas been an openness as burdens were shared and each person prayed.\nThe first Wednesday night everyone prayed, Paul gave a short devotional\nthought on the idea of praying together (using examples from the early\nchurch and Scriptural commands). Not knowing how they would respond,\nPaul took some requests and opened the time for prayer. We were thrilled\nas each person there that night prayed for and with one another. Although\nwe still need to grow in prayer, we are encouraged to see steps of growth.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In previous letters we asked you to pray for Bob. He faithfully comes to the\nservices and is showing a desire to grow in his walk with God. His wife\ndied about a year ago due to drug overdose and then the grandmother\nused the tribe to remove the children from the home. Bob is working\nthrough the Tribal Court requirements and hopes his children will be back\nsoon. Until then, the Tribal Court requires him to take a parenting class,\nso Paul is using some preaching videos on parenting. Last week when the\nvideo ended, Bob could hardly speak as he was confronted with convicting\ntruth. Please pray the truths he hears will help him to be the father he\nshould be and help him to have a home where God is glorified.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This Sunday, Paul is beginning a series on addictions for the adult Sunday\nSchool class. Our hearts are burdened as we see so many live in defeat to\nthe consuming control of addictions. Please pray as we discover the life-\nchanging truth of God\u2019s Word. Specifically, please pray for Simon, Carol,\nIda, and Cyrus. Also please pray for Paul as he prepares and teaches.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Please pray for Tommy and Shannon our next-door neighbors. Shannon\ncame to a recent ladies Bible study and really responded to the truths. She\nhas a salvation testimony and a good foundation in the Bible. Last\nSaturday, Shannon came over and Naomi began a Bible Study using The\nEncounter <\/em>which looks at three people in the Bible who met Jesus. Paul is\nhoping for opportunities with Tommy but has been hindered through\nscheduling.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the last few months, we have been joined by Mike and Sue Smith. For\nseveral years, Pastor Smith has pastored a small work nearby, but due to\nvarious changes out of their control, they felt the need to close their doors\u2013\nat least temporarily. The Smiths have faithfully served the Lord for many\nyears and have seen God bless their ministry in wonderful ways. The\nSmiths and their people are joining Living Waters Baptist Church and\nhave already been a great help through preaching, music, and counseling.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You may remember us mentioning the need to replace our modular\nbuilding. This is where we have children\u2019s classes, ladies Bible studies,\nand fellowship meals. The current building is a modular and was built in\nthe 1950\u2019s. In recent years, its age has begun to show. Through the\nsacrifice of God\u2019s people, we are beginning the process of replacing the\nbuilding. Please pray as we work through many permits, testing,\ninspections, planning, scheduling, and so much more.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
