A blessed start to the New Year!
\nDear family, friends, and faithful
\nprayer partners:
\nLike much of the rest of the country,
\nArizona has been blanketed with snow.
\nWhile snow isn\u2019t unusual here in Northern
\nArizona and in the higher elevations across
\nthe state, Phoenix and Tucson have even
\ngotten a few flakes this year. I personally
\nwelcome it because we all know the triple
\ndigits will be here soon enough. And there
\nreally aren\u2019t many sights in all the earth
\nmore beautiful than the frosted Grand
\nCanyon.
\nWith the new year came the
\nresumption of home school co-op. Sherry\u2019s
\nload is much easier with only 2 students in
\nhere kindergarten\/first grade class. Both
\nCutter and Shealtiel are doing very well.
\nSherry is pleased with their progress.
\nWe took a trip early in January to visit
\nand give a report to a supporting church in
\nWinnemucca, NV. We really enjoyed the
\nlong weekend and fellowship with Grace
\nBaptist. The folks there have been a
\nblessing to us for many years. Along the
\nnine hour drive there and back Sherry and
\nI also enjoyed just being together and
\nvisiting. It is rare for us to be able to spend
\nextended amounts of time together just
\nbeing a couple. God is so good and I thank
\nHim for giving me such a wonderful wife!
\nSince our last letter we have seen three
\nHualapai receive Christ as Saviour! One of
\nour church members as been inviting and
\nbringing his sister, niece, and nephew to
\nservice for a few weeks. They came a few
\ntimes together before all three of them
\nacknowledged their need of salvation, were
\ndealt with, and gloriously saved the last
\nSunday in January!
\nLate last summer, Sherry took our son,
\nMicah to Fargo, ND where he began
\npreparing for the ministry at Master\u2019s
\nBaptist College. It had been several years
\nsince we had visited the ministry as a
\nfamily. Over the years the work has grown
\nand developed quite a lot. I was blessed to
\nbe able to visit Micah and the college in
\nFebruary-the best time of year to visit
\nFargo-and see all that the Lord is doing
\nthere. Please, continue to pray for Micah
\nand Josh as he continues his training at
\nPensacola Christian College. Lord willing,
\nboth will be graduating Spring of 2020.
\nIt is not often that I report on what is
\nhappening within the Independent Baptist
\nIndian Mission of which I am the director.
\nHowever, there are two prayer request I
\nwant to bring to your attention. Our
\nnewest missionaries, the Jacob Jones family
\nto the Cocopah, are expecting their first
\nchild. Jacob\u2019s wife, Lydia is the daughter of
\none of our veteran missionaries. Lydia has
\nnumerous health issues which complicate
\nher pregnancy. At 33 weeks baby Samuel is
\ndoing well. Pray Lydian carries Samuel full
\nterm with no complications.
\nThe Sondergaard family serving
\namong the Yavapai-Apache had their fifth
\nchild, Andrew, back in October. He was
\nborn with some significant health issues.
\nWhile he is still being tested, he has been
\ndiagnosed with plagiocephaly. He has
\nmany appointments in the next couple
\nmonth with several specialists.
\nPlease keep these two little ones in
\nprayer.
