Dear Friends in Christ,<\/p>\n
Last month, we shared with you about a Navajo Pastor, Albert, who we had visited in the hospital as he was dying.\u00a0 He was on pain medication for several weeks (months) and is no longer suffering pain.\u00a0 The Lord has taken him home.\u00a0 His funeral was this last week-end but we were unable to attend as we were both home sick with the \u201cflu\u201d\/\u00a0 \u201cbug\u201d\/ \u201cvirus\u201d\/?\u00a0 What mixed emotions, as we rejoice yet weep with the family.<\/p>\n
This last week, one of Janet\u2019s piano students (a college student- who happens to be a grand-nephew of Albert) shared how he had only slept a couple of hours the night before as he had received news of the suicide of a young man he had gone to high school with.\u00a0 A couple days later, he called with questions about God\u2019s view of suicide as another young man from his high school days, one who was raised in a Christian home, also committed suicide.<\/p>\n
Also, this week-end, we received news of the death of a young 27 yr old woman that we have ministered to in the past and had made a profession of faith in Christ.\u00a0 A couple of years ago, she had left her family and fellowship with other Believers, to pursue a sinful life style. What a difference from the end of a life served for the Lord and one that focuses on personal desires.\u00a0\u00a0 Death of others does cause the living to think about their own life and death.\u00a0\u00a0 May we leave behind a legacy of following the Lord and encouraging others to do the same.\u00a0 Our very purpose for life is to glorify God.<\/p>\n
Now that Easter and spring have arrived, our schedule usually gets busier.\u00a0 The printed materials for the Bible School classes have arrived and we expect to soon begin the studies.\u00a0 We also have some meetings scheduled in various Indian churches to celebrate special days and encourage the local Believers by studying God\u2019s Word together.\u00a0 Please pray for God\u2019s direction in all of our plans.<\/p>\n
This coming summer, another trip to Thorne Bay, Alaska is being planned.\u00a0 We would appreciate your prayers each step of the way and that God would use the radio station to spread the Word of God.\u00a0 Pray also for wise use of the funds provided and for the future financial needs of building and running the station.<\/p>\n
This short-term illness for us both has made us so thankful for the good health that God has given us over the years.\u00a0 Thank you for your prayers and gifts that allow us to continue to minister in this way.<\/p>\n
